Community meetings have been arranged to discuss a number of possible variations to the Estuary Plan following the flood risk assessment report by HR Wallingford.\u00a0\u00a0 It has become clear that consideration must be given to providing some surge tide storage area.\u00a0\u00a0 Both reports that were completed last year identified the benefits of a \u2018flood release valve\u2019 at Iken to allow water to move onto the land in a surge event which would relieve the water levels in the upper estuary and reduce flood risk to Snape, Aldeburgh and Ham Creek.\u00a0\u00a0 It will be very important to have your views so please try to come to one of these drop-in sessions:<\/p>\n

Orford Town Hall: 8th<\/sup> March 2-7pm\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 <\/strong><\/p>\n

Aldeburgh Church Hall: 13th<\/sup> March 2-7pm<\/strong><\/p>\n

Snape Village Hall: 14th<\/sup> March 2-7pm <\/strong><\/p>\n

Following these drop-in sessions, the Partnership will be holding their Annual Community Meeting at Snape Maltings\u00a0Recital Room 14th<\/sup> April 10.30am-1pm<\/strong> and there will be a number of presentations to inform and discuss the scheme options under consideration.\u00a0\u00a0 There are potentially significant differences from the agreed plan and it will be important to have as broad a discussion as possible.<\/p>\n
