October 2017
Pupils from Orford, Snape and Aldeburgh entered an art and writing competition judged by Maggi Hambling and Anthony Horowitz, expressing what the Alde and Ore Estuary means to them. When the Save Our Suffolk Estuary fundraising campaign was launched in October, the childrens’ work was displayed at each of the three launch events in Orford Town Hall, Snape Village Hall and Aldeburgh Cinema. Our thanks to Maggi and Anthony for their time, and personal notes of encouragement to the children. Congratulations to everyone who took part – it was a fantastic effort and gave everyone a different perspective on estuary life for all ages.
