ACTION ON THE ALDEBURGH WALL

Preparation work has started on the first phase of the Aldeburgh Wall.

The project is being delivered by East Suffolk Internal Drainage Board in partnership with the Environment Agency and the Alde and Ore Estuary Partnership using both government and local funds. Pete Roberts, IDB Site Manager, has started setting up the base and will be bridging ditches for machinery access to start work next week.

Upgrading the 4 kms of wall will take 3 years to complete and cost £1.96 million.  There is an urgent need to raise £1million locally for this scheme alone.  If you would like to help us with your time or know more about raising funds please contact The Alde & Ore Estuary Trust via our Contact page.
