The Partnership has received the defined costs for the whole estuary upgrade project from the IDB and the Government contributions for the lower estuary are being identified by Risk Policy Analysis (RPA), a Norfolk firm who have been commissioned by the IDB to cover this work. These estimates will be available mid-December. Although the overall costs for the project have increased, this may be mitigated by a considerable increase in Government contributions to those previously estimated. Once the RPA figures are provided, The Partnership will have a much clearer picture of the full anticipated costs and programme which will in turn inform the Alde & Ore Estuary Trust of the funding requirements over the next 5-8 years. The IDB should be ready to submit the business case for the upper estuary to the Environment Agency in early 2019, which is a necessary step in acquiring government funding.
Public Consultation
The Partnership will be holding a public drop-in session on Wednesday 27th February 2019 2pm – 8pm at Snape Maltings Trask Café with a presentation at 6pm in the Recital Room to update everyone on the cost of upgrading the estuary walls, projected income, both local fundraising and Environment Agency/Government contributions and enabling development. Everyone is welcome to drop in and discuss the project.
